So, our AGM is over for another year. We hope that those that attended found it useful, in learning more about the work that we undertake and the services we provide, and in hearing about the plans of the Lottery. If you couldn’t attend, we hope that this “micro site” enabled you to take part, and get a sense of the event.
We set up this microsite for a number of reasons – for those that couldn’t attend; to provide a record of the event, to promote the use of technology in voluntary groups…..and as a way to gather your views about the work we do in the High Peak. So, please, leave a comment (using the comment button below). Have we got the balance of the services we provide as a CVS? should we be doing more policy work? should we be providing more funding advice and support for local groups? what type of training should we be providing? Are we too focussed on money? Whatever you think about our work, please tell us – good and bad. It will help us grow and develop over the next 5 years and beyond
Great blog! The use of video and slideshows really helps those who were not at the AGM. In fact, I am sure that some of the groups that you help would benefit from creating similar blogs for themselves.
I thought the AGM was great. I’m a member of staff at the CVS, I run the Arts Development Service and I thought the AGM was a great opportunity to meet people who run groups and also a good chance to look back at the previous year. We’re usually too busy to take time to think about our achievements but we should do – we’re doing good work.
Love the website too – especially the balloon graphics – they’re brilliant – so lifelike.
Would again like to thank the CVS for inviting us along (Chinley, Buxworth & Brownside C.A.) we hope everyone enjoyed our presentation as much as we did. I must apologise to the lady signing for the deaf as I got in front of her a couple of times, totally unintentionally. Thanks also to the CVS for all their help over the last 12 months. If there is a copy of the photos we’d be glad to have them for our website and the video (if you did one in the end)
Many thanks.
Brilliant mix of presentation styles and content. Sharp, engaging updates on a range of groups and their work. Just what an AGM needs – left feeling suitable inspired. Well done all involved!
One of the roles of the ICT Hub is to hold up shining examples of where techology is being used as a powerful force for good, but not to force technology (ICT) for its own sake. In my particular area of work for the ICT Hub at NAVCA this is with infrastructure organisations such as High Peak CVS and this one of those examples of where ICT has enhanced the services that the local CVS has been able to provide.
I feel after reading Tony’s blog, watching the video clips, looking at the pictures and reading the presentation notes that I was almost (dare I say ‘virtually’) there.
Like others I couldn’t be there, but this package of techology has made me feel part of the event. The tools and websites used are not expensive and just need a bit of planning, so this could easily be something transferable to offer to other CVS’ for their AGMs and with enough notice and advertising could take live comments and questions from isolated communities.
Well done Tony and all your assistants, Happy Birthday and I wonder what the technology will be enabling you to do on your 10th Birthday?
One downside though …. how do I get my share of the cake?!!!
